Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) set out the terms under which we provide building services and quotes to consumer clients. By accepting a quote or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Definitions

  • "We"/"Us"/"Our": The supplier of the services (Rick’s business).

  • "You"/"Customer": The individual commissioning the work.

  • "Proposal": Our written description of the work offered.

  • "Order": Your formal acceptance of the proposal.

  • "Works": The actual labour and services we deliver.

2. Quotes & Proposals

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days.

  • Quotes must be accepted in full, with no changes unless agreed in writing.

  • Some quotes may carry a small charge, particularly if:

    • You need a quote for insurance purposes

    • You're asking about a property you don’t yet own

    • The quote requires extensive site visits or admin
      We’ll let you know upfront if a fee applies.

3. Services

  • We will carry out the work as agreed in the Proposal.

  • Any changes must be requested in writing and may affect the cost.

  • We may use trusted subcontractors where appropriate and notify you in advance.

4. Materials

  • We use high-quality materials and will inform you if substitutions are needed.

  • Any visual materials (drawings, sketches, etc.) are illustrative only unless agreed otherwise.

5. Pricing & Payments

  • All prices include VAT unless stated otherwise.

  • Payment terms will be clearly outlined in your quote. Usually, we require payment in stages or 7 days prior to work beginning.

  • Late payment may result in legal or recovery action, and we reserve the right to reclaim costs.

6. Delivery & Risk

  • We aim to meet agreed deadlines, but timing can be impacted by weather, supply chains, and unforeseen site conditions.

  • Risk for materials passes to you upon delivery.

7. Our Commitments

  • We carry out all work to a high standard with care and professionalism.

  • We’re fully insured and follow all health and safety regulations.

  • We will make good any damage we cause during work and tidy up the site before leaving.

  • We guarantee our work for 12 months from the date of completion.

8. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide access during normal working hours.

  • Clear the area for works and protect any valuable fixtures.

  • Secure all permissions (planning, party wall agreements, etc.) before work starts.

  • Supply accurate measurements/information if requested.

  • Only access work areas with our permission for safety reasons.

9. Snagging & Defects

  • A snagging list will be agreed before final sign-off.

  • If something still isn’t resolved, a fair partial refund may be offered for that item.

  • We’re not liable for defects caused by third parties not hired by us.

10. Cancellations

  • You have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 if you book via email, phone, or at home.

  • If you request urgent work within the 14 days, you may waive this right.

  • After 14 days, cancellation fees may apply if we’ve incurred costs.

11. Complaints

We aim to provide excellent service. If something’s not right, please contact us immediately so we can put it right.

12. Legal

  • We are not liable for indirect losses or delays caused by external factors.

  • Force majeure applies in cases beyond our control (e.g. storms, supply chain issues, illness).

  • This contract is governed by English law and your statutory rights are fully protected.
